Why might you need Asset Management?
Determining and understanding the condition of your physical plant assets is a key element in managing your organisation. Understanding how much risk you choose to take every day with your assets is important. Understanding the costs of equipment failure is important to your future.
What is it?
An important first step is a routine documented analysis of the condition of the assets. Most organisations have many of the elements of Asset Management already, but it fails to work as a cohesive system. Asset Management requires the integration and coordination activities into a single process. Due to the nature of the analysis and evaluation, systems are required to support accurate and timely data gathering and trending of performance. Standard causal analysis are employed to risk manage possible future asset failures; preventative maintenance techniques and capital planning support efficient management of older assets. By reviewing the assets using asset health indicators, pretty accurate predictive information can be elicited, sufficient to create the necessary business cases for replacement assets.
An annual review in line with business planning and budget development is essential.
Supported by product development, business development and customer needs, the cycle plan will be able to accommodate repair and replace assets within a timeframe that meets resource and demand requirements.
What will we do?
An initial review of your existing assets, and a formal report on what we find and what we recommend.
Then we will:
Provide an outline strategy to direct your energies.
Provide the tools to set you up for success including scoping and project management of the change.
Work with you to build accountability into your management processes.
Work with you to build the database information you need.
Set up appropriate metrics to support the accountability and progress management.
Need regularly to guide, mentor and coach.
