Mike Shannon MBE
Mike is a professional engineer with 15 years experience and for six years was the maintenance manager for British Energy at Dungeness B Power station.
When British Energy began their Performance Improvement Programme he was appointed as a member of the Management Team to develop and implement the programme. In the development phase, he was the Fleet Manager responsible for Equipment Reliability, during the implementation Phase he took over accountability for the deployment of the Human Performance Programme and for a period Operational Focus work stream, including Nuclear Safety.
The Human Performance programme deployment included training and leadership coaching to ensure sustainability of the culture change brought about by the programme.
Jacqui Walker-Sutton
Jacqui is a professional Programme and Project Manager with six years experience with Severn Trent Utility Services working strategically at a distance, creating cohesive project management infrastructures and implemented successfully in a number of locations at the same time.
In 2004, Jacqui worked with the PIP consortium for ARUP major Projects as the Programme Support Manager for Human Performance during the development and implementation phase of the programme. This included the development of the strategic programme and implementation plan coordinated across all eight sites and corporate headquarters. Jacqui is qualified as an executive human performance coach and trainer.
HPL work with a network of experienced partners who we have chosen carefully to reflect our standards and behaviours to ensure that we deliver excellent products. Our partners supplement us as; coaches, trainers, communication specialists, engineers, programme managers and planners.

British Energy on their Performance Improvement Programme - supporting the whole programme with Internal Communications and focused support on Human Performance and Asset Management, Training and Programme Management. To date the human performance programme has been recognised internationally for its achievements in the nuclear industry and pioneering a modern application of human performance.
Achieved: Reduction in events across the company, improvement in corporate reputation, increased self esteem of station personnel with the implementation of Human Performance Leader Authorisation (HULA), a reduction in Lost Time Accidents, World Association Nuclear Operators recognised that Human Performance programme was leading European nuclear facilities.
Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels - Global Improvement Programme - Implemented improvements across 6 sites in USA, Sweden and UK, benefits are beginning to be seen, excellent platform for next phase of more technical improvements to products. Predominantly programme management and expert mentoring of Work Management, Training, Human Performance, Asset Management, Human Resources Management, Operational Focus and Internal Communications.
Achieved: The programme is running successfully on the foundations that have been set up at Westinghouse. The foundations are being sustained and built upon by their own employees through the coaching and knowledge shared and transferred.
